SPAIN
Places at which we actually stopped
The coordinates should be accurate, but no guarantees. Hopefully the photos will help to clarify the last few meters.
If you think it will help, email us for a Google Earth file of our track logs.

Zumaia Aire, Spain

Picture
N 43°17.583
W 2°14.826
A simple tarmac car park in the middle of an industrial area. Luckily next to the tidal river with a pleasant cliff face opposite. Just a few minutes walk into town on the riverside path. Well lit, with water and a dump. FREE.

Comillas Car Park

Picture
N 43°23.371
W4°17.348
Slightly sloping car park on sea front next to beach and harbour. No facilities. Empty in November.

Leon Aire

Picture
N 42°36.269
W 5°35.099
Simply a large car park opposite Leon Plaza with a few plots reserved for motorhomes. It advertises water and a dump. The water is under a small square manhole cover, so you need a hose. Only with the help of a local were we able to find the WC dump. It is under a large circular manhole cover in the middle of the wide pavement next to the busy road. The local advised it was too heavy to lift and to wait until “noche” and use a car park drain !!!

Camp Willsom, Dos Hermanas

Picture
N 37° 16.649'
W  5° 56.185
Clean and tidy camp with a pool. Must be throbbing in Summer but it’s quiet in December. A bit tight in places for a long motorhome. But staff are friendly and helpful. Clean toilets. Hot water in showers. Wifi in reception but very weak. Does anyone have decent wifi in Spain and Portugal?
Bus stop about 500 meters away for Sevilla €1.8 each way. Buy ticket on bus.

Camping Roche, near Fuente del Gallo

Picture
N 36° 18.647
W  6° 6.767
Absolutely spotless campsite with every facility except good wifi. In fact it’s almost useless and we were parked in the “best place”. Strangely the toilets do not have locks on the doors. Other than that everything is well maintained. Even a dedicated motorhome pressure wash area. The downside for us is that it is absolutely flat and featureless, surrounded by a wall. The camp is about 5 kilometers from the sea. There are other camps in the area. One is La Rosaleda which was full and more expensive and the others were closed. Sorry, forgot to take photo.

Camping La Casita

Picture
N 36° 15.043
W  5° 20.292
Camp in a forest with all facilities. A little bit old fashioned but very pleasant... but empty in December. We had a very quiet night. The internet worked. However the owner is asking too much at €22 a night. That could be why the camp is empty.

Playa de Almayate Bajamar

Picture
N 36°43.433
W 4°8.421
This place is a caravan dealership which has a service area and electricity for visitors for only €6. A nice man from Western Sahara welcomed us with a great big smile and was very helpful. The area is a dirt yard which is guarded and well illuminated. We were allowed to use the wifi but we gave up because of the translation and pronunciation of the 18 character password.

Camp La Garrofa, near Almeria

Picture
N 36° 49.581
W  2° 30.986
Small campsite nestled in a dry river valley where it meets the sea from the mountains. Simple but very pleasant and friendly. Next to the sea with a beach 200 meters wide. There is a shop, bar/cafe and electric. The downside is that the internet comes from satellite and the three camp antennae are badly situated. We had wifi (paid for) and then it stopped. We have to visit the cafe. But after much pestering they got an engineer and it worked. But it took three weeks. Another downside is that there is only one tap in camp next to the spotless showers and toilets. On the good side the camp has a good atmosphere and we stayed several weeks.

Spain, Camping Puzol

Picture

Small well kept camp near coast.
